Finally going to have a go at racing
« on: March 04, 2017, 02:20:26 PM »

Have decided that this year in going to have a go at racing as it's something I have wanted to do for years I did have a race licence in 2008 but never ended up completing a race I have no expectations of finishing anywhere but would be happy to just not be last. Had sort of given up on the idea until last year I saw the qualifying times for the no limits new comers 1000cc at cadwell and realised my best time there of 1m46.2 would of put me about 7th from the back so have decided to do cadwell and Donington rounds of that seris this year so have book my license course for March 28th at Donington park with no limits as you now have to do a track assessment was classroom based last time I did it is something I haven't been able to shake of my mind for years and Im now finally going to have a go I can't wait

Well done for giving it a go. A few of us have talked about it and id love t give it a go but just dont have the time to commit to it seriously enough. Its hard enough arranging time for fun, im sure this needs an all new level of commitment and depth of pockets...  :icon_thumright:

Cheers lads that's why I'm just going to do 2 rounds this year as I can afford that easily without pushing myself into debt is entirely
For my own personal satisfaction no dreams of winning races or anything as I'm now 37 just something that has always been in my head to do and for some reason last year I was going faster than I ever have before on trackday so decided now is the time

"Just going to do 2 rounds"

That will not happen! You'll sell everything and anything including vital organs and beloved family members to do the rest of the season!
Good on you mate, I've done a bit of racing and had every intention of doing golden era this year until a baby got in the way. I've built a monster of a zx7r with zx10 front and rear ends, thinking of racing and selling the baby to fund it.
