A smaller rear sprocket and shit load more power why you want 200mph?

Fair enough mate would say it will cost a fair bit to get a true 200mph ie gps logged not what the speedo is saying just as a guide I had my bike showing 190mph on robbosliding's charity trackday but the true speed logged by gps was 168mph but I am a big lad and create alot of drag ha ha

188 is the most i've done, the shift light coming on made me look at the speedo, so there was still a bit left. Not bad for a D7, uphill with a 17st rider.

You're not gonna get 200mph out of an 08 ZX10R without pumping thousands of pounds worth of tuning into the engine or sticking a turbo on it. The most I've ever seen on the clock was 189mph coming back from Mugello in 2007. That was on a 2005 10R with a slip on pipe and standard gearing with an uncorrected speedo, ie it was probably closer to a true 170mph although the bike still felt like it had a little bit left to give if it wasn't for the speed limiter kicking in.

Ok so iv got PCV autotune & the O2 optimizer K&N filter Brisk racing plugs de catted headers & leo vince slip on, i weigh 11 stone and can tuck behind the fairing, iv got the sat nav on the bike that'll show true speed! so gearing has anybody had any experience with sprocket sizes is it better to change both or either one? I think im going to have a run or two to see where im at, mirrors off etc to start! Rubber im having those scrubs for practice but less sticky for the final run would be more beneficial i think? I need more info please?

I think you,ll struggle however if you want to know what sprockets to use look at www.gearingcommander.com enter your bikes details and it,ll do the rest for you just remember to change it to mph as it defaults to kph ( button at the top). You,d have drag, wind resistance and mass to take into consideration. Good luck but I think it,ll be a big ask of a standard engine.

 :iamwithstupid:

Looking at that website you could add a fair bit of top speed over standard, but at what cost. Altering the gearing so radically would surely make the bike horrid to ride from what its normally like, and even then, there's absolutely no guarantee you'll get perfect conditions to attempt a high speed run.

You might get lucky, but more likely you'll end up cursing the bike for annoying the crap out of you.  :dontknow:

Nice one mate thats just about all the info i need iv worked out + 1 front & either - 2 or 3 on the rear should do the job if there's enough stock power to get it there!

+1 on the front and -2/3 on the rear will leave you with the same gearing!
1 front tooth is roughly the same as 3 rear teeth.
