Its 9 days since my off, and since i have come off there has been various topics of people giving up road riding, then others giving up track riding and others taking up golf almost.
So I though that i would post my views, because obviously i have had some thoughts..............
From carious forums, so no names, One guy had done himself in on the I.O.M whilst watching the TT, so has given up road bikes and is going the Trackday route.
Another guy had a good off at Oulton and had decided that track days are to dangerous and is sticking to road riding.
Another guy in Scotland has come off his road bike and his wife won't allow any motorcycle mates to visit.
My argument has always been that the track is safer, due to having a medical centre close at hand etc.
As most know, I have a new Fireblade for the road, so I'm pretty much financially tied that way. Cos I'm too tight to lose a load of money choppin it in. My mate Phil is making a chopper and a thing of beauty it will be when its done, but I'm not convinced its for me just yet.
My track bike still does it for me, considering i didn't even like the bike that i have, I now really enjoy riding it and its power is awesome. Plus I have also booked on to Almeria prior to my off.
Another downside to road and track is that at 18 stone and 47, bouncing isn't ever going to graceful.
So after 9 days of pondering to myself about whats what, and others views etc I know have the answer......................
I'm taking my last off as a yellow card, and any other offs that really hurt for more than say two days and that will be it for the trackdays for me, However until that day, the status quo shall resume.
Blade for the road, and ZX10R for the track.
Bring it on..............
