ZX10R comes second
« on: March 11, 2009, 03:57:23 PM »

MCN lot raced Blade R1 GSXR DUKE and our beloved ZX10R - based on laptimes alone ZX10R came second fastest round the circuit

Nope. And i'd suggest that it takes a skilled rider to lap within a sec of the R1.

it was the same rider that rode both, or do you simply mean that cause its harder to go faster on the 10??

it must be my age but this sort of stuff simply makes me laugh,  [rofl] [rofl] [rofl]

I bought my05 because it looks nice, I never cared about whether it was faster then the other 1000 sports bikes, it never even entered my mind  :icon_scratch:

The second quicker isn't what its about for me - its more about the fact that the bike handles well enough to be that quick, most track times are made up on the cornering so if the suspenders are doing a good job its a good indication on how well it rides.

Secondly i agree the looks of the bike are very important too - but i bought the 04 not only because of how it looks but because of its untamed reputation and ball busting acceleration......

Wouldn't you like to see Kawasaki's up the front again in BSB/WSBK? I know i would and when they're not it begs the question why???
What are our biikes lacking?
Why don't they do well on IOM?

etc etc so its just good to know they're heading in the right direction!

Of course i will never be able to afford a brand new litre bike of any sort, but to be honest i wouldn't swap my 04 for any bike out there at the mo either and i know its not the quickest - but its the most fun  [wall]

Got to disagree there, a second is a massive amount of time for 1 lap. If you look at the other bikes on test they were all well within a second of each other.

this doesnt bother me at all, on the road were i do the vast majority of my riding the fact there,s a 1 sec differnce on track will make absolutely no difference what so ever.and anyway if they had asked they could of borrowed my 10 instead of the one they had! its a black one so obviously it would have trounced any opposition :headbang:
