Thats easy to solve. Ride faster then nothings behind you lol.
Ive ridden without mirrors for over 10 years and thats because i usually ride alone and quite fast so i just concerntrate on where im going. If i rode more in groups i would have mirrors on.

I couldn't ride without mirrors either .....I just like to be aware of what's behind me especially if he has a blue light !!!

I did think of getting a rear view camera behind the screen but the idea of no mirrors is to keep eyes on where your going. Like track riding if you look in the mirrors for a second it can make you run wide into corners if your pushing on a bit like i usually do

Little update of todays mods.
Changed the rear end to green and fitted indicator blanks.
Plus fitted indicators to the front behind the screen.

Just fitted my custom akrapovic setup.
Its the 2009 zx10r akrapovic with the butterfly option fitted in the front to keep some of the back pressure and help reduce the noise.
The link pipe is custom made.
The standard cables were just long enough to fit.

Nice work  B-)

Did you retain the 02 sensor in the link pipe?

...........and did that do away with the need to remap the fuelling?

Yes the sensor is fitted in the link pipe in the same location as standard and with the butterfly valve in the exhaust its should run closer to standard than the official akrapovic setup for the gen 4 so i believe it wont need remapping

I need to check (five wires) if a wide band sensor is fitted on this bike, which I think controls fueling over a wider range, but I'd be interested in your riding impressions as to how this mod affects fueling. I'm thinking of removing the cat, but retaining the sensor. Pipewerx have a link pipe to suit for about £50. I think the sensor only works in certain riding conditions, like idle and overrun, so not sure if a remap can be avoided  :icon_scratch:

(Ive recently PX'd my gen3 for a gen4)

Sorry i dont understand what you are asking.
All exhausts for the gen 4 have sensor holes. You need the sensor in the exhaust. I cant understand why you wouldnt want it in there.
Ps ive just ridden it and it rides superb. Quieter than my old akra race setup

I'm learning about all this as I go, but it seems that the sensor leans the A/F mixture to around 14.7/1 This only occurs at certain throttle positions (idle/cruising/overrun) . It is generally removed on race bikes with an 02 eliminator in its place and the exhaust hole/boss is plugged. Full race systems, of course, have no provision for the sensor at all

The bike can then be tuned to run on an A/F ratio which I think is closer to 13, optimum for power. The sensor is used on road bikes, primarily to protect the cat and control emissions. With the cat removed, the sensor becomes less useful as the ECU can operate on an open loop to determine optimum fuelling from the throttle position sensor (tps)

I want to remove the cat, but retain the sensor if possible and avoid a remap. My understanding is that the bike will alternate between closed loop (sensor activated) and open loop (ECU) when throttle is opened under acceleration.

Basically I want more mid range power without the need for a power commander or other fuel modulator and you have perfectly answered my question as "it rides superb"   :icon_thumleft:

I would like to know for sure that it wasnt used all of the time.
At the end of the day if it helps correct the a/f ratio at any point then its gotta be a good thing?
Mine does the occasional pop and bang on overrun but apparently thats to do with the smog system.
I think it sounds cool but people do block it off
