New front cog

On Saturday night I finally got round to fitting my Gilles adjusters again, and a -1 front cog. I took it out for a brief spin but my rather kean sense of self preservation was even keaner than usual in the raining darkness, so I decided to save it for Sunday. I was up at 7am on Sunday! Watched it rain for 4 hours... then thought fukit, and went out anyway (and left self preservation to watch some telly).  :brave:

-1 front sprockets are cool!  :icon_thumright:

Welcome to the club have been running -1 for years, great for rolling wheelies in 3rd and 4th.

Welcome to the club have been running -1 for years, great for rolling wheelies in 3rd and 4th.

I'm still a wheelie noob - only just done a wheelie school, and now looking for somewhere to go practice??? The -1 cog is definitely going to make it much easier.  It made the 750 feel a bit more like my ex-1000.

i'm going -1 up front and +2 in the rear when i buy a new chain... anyone running that setup?

any of you bothered to get a speedohealer?

I've gone up 4 at the back on my TL before and loved it. You're looking at the equivalent of about +6 at the back - some might say its bonkers, but you won't know until you've tried  ;-)

depends tho dunnit... i've felt that i really need the -1f setup on the track to break up the first gear and get some 2nd gear proper power

.. and on the street, well anything that helps it come up easy off the throttle is fine by me  :tongue3:

at the moment i have to:

a) 30mph... shut off throttle.. snap open throttle... bingo up she comes
b) 60mph... 1st gear.. 7000rpm.. wrench throttle back.. bingo up she comes

... and so basically, i'd like to take off from a standstill and just ride out 1st gear until she comes up - with no snapping the throttle etc.

mine lifts off the throttle in 1 and 2 really easily and with a bit of effort in 3 with standard gearing  :icon_scratch:

It lifts over any undulations in all gears too........... maybe with my new rear shock dialled in it'll be more stuck to the road though, maybe the standard shock was too hard  :dontknow:

I snapp in 2nd or 3rd and up, use 2nd for short runs or 3rd for speed wheelie :icon_thumright:
