To all of you who think it's ok to speed in a 30mph zone gis a shout and i will happily wait at a junction in something suitably heavy like say a 7.5 tonne truck. Gis a wave as you set off at warp speed and i will gladly pull out on you seeing as kids lives are not important then neither is yours! Leave me yr parents number first though so i can let em know yr just being scraped off the side of my truck. But hey i will say his life is not important he is only your son. You know what, i have read some great stuff on this site but i have truly read some utter shite too and some of the comments in this thread have been utter shite. I say again there is never a need to speed in a 30 as there are enough roads in the surrounding countryside to "hoon" on. Ffs grow up and fuck off out in the country.

:iamwithstupid:

50's 60's and NSL are hooning ground - 30's and 40's are usually there for a bloody good reason...

A 30 implies a heightened risk of hazards, be it people, cars or animals.

No excuse for speeding in a 30 or 40 if you ask me.

(By the way I haven't read the entire thread, I just wanted to jump on the band wagon  :icon_thumright: )

how about this for a fact....in 1875  yes the 19th century 1589 people were killed on the roads...and this was at the time of the red flag rule, ie 2mph in towns 4 mph in country and with a bloke carrying a red flag in front...

This is why I laugh at the 30mph and 20 mph speeds, they are pure crap...they do not reduce accidents, only training and more training, along with better road designs and better seperation of cars and pedestrians, in 2005 the lowest number ever of pedestrians was killed, ie 671...this may seem a high number but it is miniscule and as I have said before the vast majority of the accidents are shown to be the pedestrians fault...but yet all we see is 20mph limits....

the crap about children not getting killed at 30mph is poppy cock, even 20mph is likely to kill them but it beggars belief that in 1875 witha 4mph maximum speed limit there were 1589 people killed. I am not sure that the 30 and 20MPH speed limits actually has much evidence of reducing deaths...

They must of been trying out the new fangled horseless carriages as a new form of suicide. Still makes you wonder just how the hell they managed it though  :icon_scratch: There might of been 2 & 4 mph speed limits in force but i bet ya eveyone was screwing the tits off there 1/2 hp ZX1875R's  :tongue3:

yea there were 1589 people killed ont he road in the 19th century but there where also a lot of highwaymen as well as apposed to those jsut being thrown from their trusty steed but you can guarentee the leadership cited it as death by speeding
