a childs life is worth fook all, I think the government values a childs life at around 3,000 pounds....I value freedom a darn site more than that...at least 100million lives more...
the point is not specific, the 30mph or the 70mph limit is not the issue, and the death of a child is virtually 90% the childs fault, or the parents for not having them under control (who does have their children under control)...the vast majority of other accidents are the fault of not paying attention..(my previous words were a bit ambiguos sorry)...most 30 mph speed limits are associated with the noise issue but they bring up the safety issue first...(especially if a child has been killed) as if the life of one person matters over the 60 million that are affected by the rullings...the point is laws are an impostion upon typically the law abiding people....not the unlawful who totally ignore the rules anyway...
The death of a child is important to the family and not to the population...the death of an adult may have more widespread effect but in the end they are minor issues to the population...what does affect every single one of us is pointless rules that criminalise virtually all of us, pointless involvement in our lifes that has little to do with safety or sensibility but more to do with population control...and as was said...the law does nothing to stop the real crooks, idiots and nutters out there...
But as I said bringing up the death of a child (150 odd killed last year by the way) is annoying and has little to do with a reasoned argument on road safety or speed limits.
The country is fooked I say it again...
