fact an M6 could beat a ten to 60 if the rider isn't up to scratch ...( most riders aint)
not a fact but an observation an M6 will pull to 202mph a ten won't

Not long ago i had a burn up with a black BMW M5 estate down the M3 on the way home from work.....i was totally gobsmacked at how the fooker went!!!.....I was indicating at one time 184mph and the M5 was pulling away from me....not leaving me for dead but pulling away slowly.
Now for the excuses...  ...i had a large object in my rucksack and as we were errrrr bimbling along my fuel light came on and my junction was pretty rapidly approaching!!......  [whistle]

Your all missing the point.  You have bikes because the invigorate you when you ride - sense of freedom, danger, challenge.

Alas, no german (ok, there are one or two exceptions) or Japenese cars achieve these things.    Only the italians do that imo.

ah ... but you miss my point.... I was luxery with performance ... I like to be able to bimble in style with all the gadgets ... but if some tit gets on my nerves have the power to leave him for dust....

I don;t want a performance car to dust anything round a track ... like you say thats what the bike is for..... I want a luxery electric memory seat not a carbon bucket seat....

bikes for going fast .... cars for cruising in style  :headbang:

At least in the mid 80s the roads were empty enough to drive them fast. Now they're just for posing in the traffic queue

Ha ha...that is so true!  However, I must add I bought my Ducati long after passing my DAS  :dontknow:

Only thing I would say about said quote...nothing worse than seeing a frustrated middle aged man in a family wagon revving the fucking nuts of it, cause he wished he had something  sportier but needs the practicality (and economy...even though driving it like that ain't gonna help).

If you can afford it...have it...if ya can't...don't try and be jealous or over competitive.  I could have had lots of cars (and believe me I looked) before I bought my GTI.  And I reckon, pound for pound is a simply brilliant car.  I looked at Porsches, BMW's, Audi's the whole shooting match....I had the money so why the fuck not...and the best car...was actually one of the cheapest.

Having a nice car, is not about whether fast or slow, comfy or uncomfy, sporty or old manlike.  But to you is a "dream" car (and for some it could be a Pink Smart Car with Fluffy Dice) then do it...no mid life crisis about it!  Its about making an informed choice based on personal preference.  :tongue3:
