fast car = midlife crisis
Mid 80's cliche well past its sell by date.
True.
These days they do their DAS & go out & buy a Ducati.....
Ha ha...that is so true! However, I must add I bought my Ducati long after passing my DAS
Only thing I would say about said quote...nothing worse than seeing a frustrated middle aged man in a family wagon revving the fucking nuts of it, cause he wished he had something sportier but needs the practicality (and economy...even though driving it like that ain't gonna help).
If you can afford it...have it...if ya can't...don't try and be jealous or over competitive. I could have had lots of cars (and believe me I looked) before I bought my GTI. And I reckon, pound for pound is a simply brilliant car. I looked at Porsches, BMW's, Audi's the whole shooting match....I had the money so why the fuck not...and the best car...was actually one of the cheapest.
Having a nice car, is not about whether fast or slow, comfy or uncomfy, sporty or old manlike. But to you is a "dream" car (and for some it could be a Pink Smart Car with Fluffy Dice) then do it...no mid life crisis about it! Its about making an informed choice based on personal preference.
