I can just imagine the conversation going on - well yes hun but you know I'm an adrenaline junkie so to replace the bike I'm going to jump out of aeroplanes but it's ok cus the other numpties in the air are all going in the same direction too......     What's that you say - a new bike ??  I love you lots 

There are other people who have been in the situation you are in and as far as I know pretty much all of them took a break, their partners ended up coming to terms that it wass making them miserable and usually came round albeit with some compromises. Whatever you decide BW I hope it works out.

I am lucky my current partner loves bikes. My ex-wife however was a different story, but I made it clear to her that if I ever got the ultimatum she would be the one to go. I gave up a lot to raise a family, the bike is the one thing I won't give up for anyone though.
