I will just ignore the fact that its got a little km next to it

no a proper full on wheelie over 1km. to do any good you need to get to approx 170mph thats a flat out.

fair enuff, i'm not sure i could sum up the courage to go that fast on a wheelie (to be honest i dont usually have the courage to look at the speedo so couldnt tell you) but can change gear with the wheel up easily enuff etc,

but to be honest i far prefer stoppies, much easier and really makes car drivers freak out when they havent seen you and just hear the crash of the back wheel comming down and turn round to see you sitting there like nothing has happened :D (i of course only prefer them because i am much better at them than wheelies)

easiest way is to stick it in second gear get up to between 6 - 8k revs then slap onthe throttle, yank in the clutch and let it go next thing your wheel heads skywards at a very controlable speed

if you want to reverse it and do a stoppie, the easiest way is to get yourself up to a decent speed say 60mphish commign up to a taffic light at 100 meters, pull in the clutch and slowly bring in the front brake harder and harder till it bottoms out then the back wheel will begin to rise, again nice and slow and controllable

you are of course quite correct but i personally dont like wheelieing off the throttle so much, the wheel comes up quite slowly for the first little bit then slams up at an awsome speed whereas with the clutch you get it the other way round a fast/immediate lift for the first little bit then a slow controlled lift to the balance point, i guess its just down to what you are better at clutch control or throttle control - also you dont have to be going quite so fast with the clutch which is good if u are learning
