help me please

please can all you ex zx7r owners tell me wether the forks have pre-load or
height adjusters,as im getting conflicting reports,,,red monkeys say height adjusters but the ohlins guy
at mallory said pre-load.HELP;

sorry its not a zx10 thread,but mines gone, :crybaby2:  :crybaby2:  :crybaby2:

Spenny, they are 100% ride height adjusters only.
If I remember correctly, adjusting them has a mild effect on the spring, stiffening it up a little.  :icon_thumright:
I called mine pre-load for ages untill an ex racer fitted new seals for me and pit me right.  :icon_thumright:

stop it with the pink now,,,,,,,,yea i know ,but the bloody things dont make it any stiffer or
softer wen you wind em in or out.and loads of peops say its ride height only,,,,ahrrrr.

it seems strange that they are determined as ride height by loads of people though when the bike specs state preload  :dontknow:


and now I've found this
Front Suspension 43mm USD Forks. Adj Ride Height, Rebound (13 way), Compression (8 way)    [wall]

Well, I've had a good dig around and some call it preload and others ride height, personally I've not previously heard of ride height for the fornt so I'm sticking with preloads i.e. winding the spring down tighter but I'm an oldie so can someone tell me how ride height works on the front without moving the forks through the yokes  :icon_scratch:



it's just about turning the alloy piece that the brass screw sits in fella  :icon_thumright:

Hey, I'm old too.
My old ZXR750 had pre load and maybe the ZX7rr, not sure  :icon_scratch:
Anyway, had it explained to me at the time and it seemed to make sense but it's all fuzzy know so ok, pre load it is.  :icon_thumright:
