 Anyone in Preston area might know Ian Bottomley, ( a top Metallagist at BAE ) sadly Ian got killed Saturday morning in

 the Lune Valley ( Caton to Kirby Lonsdale Rd ) just outside Hornby.  He took a Partridge full on in the face, at probably

 50-60mph on BM GS 1150. 

 I'll spare you the details, except to say, it was a mess.  He leaves a wife and twin teenage daughters. Nice Bloke.

 We all know the risks, but guess how people have said, so I suppose you're going to sell ya bike now  " NO " !

reminds me of a similar incident in one of those traffic cops type programs recently where the same thing happened to a guy on a fireblade on a country lane. On this occasion he was a lot luckier in that although his face and bike were a mess at least he survived.
