Mate bought an RD125LC and let me have a shot of it...was hooked after that - went through an AR125 and countless RG's (125, 250, 400) until I found the gixxers  :tongue3:

At 17 my mates had RDs, DTs etc but I had no money (but the use of my mums car). Use to swap with them and make full use of the perimeter road that runs around the Ford (now Jaguar) factor in Halewood. It was always going to be a bikes for me as am I am also a fan of rock/metal.

well, ...way back in the day when it were all fields.............

it all started for me when I was a skinny yes skinny yoof, the day I could wheelie my pushbike was the start of it all and I had to wheelie every pushbike incl my racer types , with cowhorns fitted of course, then I dreampt of the day that I could ride a bike on the local fields.  My dad has bought an old honda moped with the fuel tank at the back with a rack over it and never put it ion the road so after begging to my mum every day if  I could have it one day she talked him around and fekk me that was it I rode every day on it on the local fields, no rear suspension so the rear wheel wobbled constantly and bearings used to fall out regualrly. Then a step up to a Honda 90 field bike, well I should rephrase, a Honda 90 ridden on the fields, all this biking started at 13 years old and I used to ride regardless of snow/rain and it just gave me a huge buzz, I used to race the lads on their proper field bikes on my '90' and even managed to keep up mostly, no fear and just a love of riding did it for me.

Then road bikes, well yes there was the 'gang' influence of some lads a couple of years older than me and rock music was most certainly there, I'm not sure what the link is between rock music and bikes I guess it was a 70/80's thing with mods/rockers really. I rode around on the back of mates bikes and then it happened........

The RD350LC was born, what a fucking bike....... ok there were lots of prior bikes that were lovely like the GPZ550 or Z650 even or of course the Z1 but nothing caught me like the 'Elsie'.......and it want from there.

I started on my mum's moped on the road and ported it  [rofl]  well I had no money college etc. then my dad's Honda 90, MBX125, RD250LC, XJ550, CBX1000, GPZ900, ZXR750H1, KX250 crosser(later road reg, RD350LC, GSXR1100K, Bandit 12, ZX10RC2H, CR250 sold lost year.... I'm sure there are a few more but overall I've just had to have a bike and haven't been without one since I had the first one.

I need to have a bike it's simply a drug and brings me in contact with great people and it's that which I like too  :occasion14:

ah yes petrol.me and my brover had a cunning plan.after the old man had upgraded to a suzuki 80 we'd nick the thing and run it dry, then the old man would have to refuel it .

he kept a jerry can in the shed for that purpose.again hed go mad at us for taking his bike.hence when we were old enough he got us a bike of our own.

field bikes yes indeed, ariel leader, norton single 500 that could throw you over the top if it back fired when kicking it over, bantam, a10 beezer, and then xt500  that was a monster bike great off roader.......then my dads matchless G12..
honda c50...got knocked of by car turning right....his fault but i had not tax insurance or MOT...oops...naughty boy..dad nearly killed me was only 16....
then KH250
Kh500 still have that one

Then 20 years without a bike....on the road anyway...borrowed a few mates 650/750 things and stuff...
Got into northern soul then trance music and most everything in between, was never a rock fan except the popular stuff...
Rebuilt my 500...
then got divorced....
Same time bought a  Bandit 600 3 years ago got me into regular biking again....

And Now i am free of all ex wife ties except the kids and maintenance I have bought myself a collection of all those bikes i wanted way back when....and still building...

Really want a z1000....ooh gotta keep away from the siop....

My grandad bought a Raleigh Ultramatic moped :emb:, largely based on the French Mobylette.  The insurance company had kittens when he put his date of birth as 1897, so he sold it to me.  I had it about four months and needed more, so fortunately the local dealer sold Casal K190 mopeds :headbang:, the pedals twisted so they acted like footrests, and the cylinder has so many fins it looked like a 190, rather than a miserable 50cc.  The rest is history, a tale of dubious Norton Commando fastback, Isle of Man prepared 1000 Guzzi Le Mans Mk1, Z1000J based Harris Magnum with Moriwaki kit, Kenny Roberts 350LC, etc, etc.  I should have kept a lot of them.

Got my first 'bike'...... DT50...... t0 get to college on.......couldnt afford a car on my part time job.

Got the biking bug so took my test at 17 on an AR80  then got a 250LC

Then passed car test and had a bit of a break from bikes but still had that bug. had a FZR 600 for about 18 months then another break.....funds not allowing bike and car.

Been back into bikes since 1997 and dont think I could be without one now..........

Got into bikes back in '78/9 through my Dad and it was my first form of transport!
My dad used to race an old AJS 7R and still rants on about bikes given half a chance....i do  He used to race against Sheenes old man and knew Sheene when he was a "little git" around the paddocks....i cant even think of the blokes my Dad talks about, old time racers and all.
Like Wippy my first bike was a CB125T [yeah wippy yours as a 100],my Ol Man picked it up from the dealers in Wokingham, cant remember the name,we didnt see him for the rest of the day as he fOOked off for a blat!!
The local bikers used to call me Spud the biking Skinhead!!
Bikes are in my blood,a very GOOd friend of mine died riding a bike but he died doing something he loved!! A true biker!!As i said bikes are in my blood and are here to stay!!
