Changing my own tyres

Right lads here it is. This is the very basic kit ive bought to change my tyres.



The wheel balancer is not quite finished yet,need to mount the 4 bearings after ive painted it (its drying as we speak).

The bead breaker is small but worked well enough.

The only thing im missing is a proper tyre brush which is on its way but the nail brush was fine.

Ive done the rear that i needed to change before oulton next week. Easy peasy B-)

Sorry i didnt take more pics along the way but here is the end product.

Make sure you put the wifes cutlery back when you can't find yer levers  :icon_thumright:

You can balance the wheels on the bike. A bit more fiddly, but do-able

I remember seeing a weird balancer at Charlie Williams shop in Chester.  The wheel was hung by a wire through the bearings, so it sat horizontal, and you put a weight on the opposite side to the lowest point.  I thought it was a bit silly looking but shortly after that I was at a tyre store and the fitter used the same system.

That bead breaker looks good, how easy is it use?

Wheer did you get that wheel balancing stand from did you make it yourself?? (i'll read the thread next time doh!)

Did you manage ok with only two levers? i had to use 3 in the end on mine  :emb:

Yeah made the stand myself as you read :lol:

Yeah i did manage with what i had, ie 2 levers and 2 rim protectors. The only thing i think i'll need is another rim protector.
