feedback please
« on: January 17, 2008, 03:09:36 PM »

hi all. just taken a zx6r j track bike in as a p x.
was thinking about keeping it as a hire bike, what do you think? would any one use it?
my price would be way cheaper than other hire companys.
please give some feedback good or bad.
i can also do track day packages where i can supply a transport,a bike, tyres, suspension set up and support throught out the day.
thanks

As with most things, the price will be the decider. Do you have a ball park figure for a guy just showing up at the track and getting everything that he needs?

Price will be a factor, But I know it could work if you turned up to zx10r trackdays and you was cheap enough then the guys who value there pride and joy would probably give it a bash  :icon_thumright:

especailly if you had wheel options I.e wets racetecs etc...  :icon_thumleft:

Hi Liam,

My wife and I looked at this about two years ago as a business prospect. And this is why we shelved the idea.

Some trackday operators don't let other hire companies on their days, way around this you don't tell them it's a hire bike when the person turns up.

There are allready quite a few established people out there doing it.

If your bike gets binned say on Wednesday and youhave another booking next day or close you have to turn somebody away and refund deposit etc.

we looked at having 4 bikes at one point.

The main point is if your bike gets binned you need a spare to carry on business.

my 2p worth from looking at this before  :icon_thumright:

Something else to bear in mind is some TD organisers are a bit funny about letting other companies not affiliated to them hiring out bikes on their days  ;-)

EDIT: Looks like we posted this at the same time  :tongue3:

thats all good but whats better for me is this year i`ll be at a good number of track days race events selling parts ect.
so its no extra cost to me to put the bike in the van, and if somebody books it outside an event knowbody needs to know.
i was thinking of a straight 150-200 quid and no deposit, i have tons of old zx6r parts that i would only end up giving away.
also as i bulid and prep a lot race/track bike for people it would be good to have if something goes wrong (because they do) as a back up bike.
