OK, I'd be slightly concerned about what may be under the frame protectors, but if I was looking at buying a 10R now, I'd be on my way to Devon already, with a bulge in my pocket...  [whistle]

They are an investment if you take them off before you sell the bike and sell the bits on their own. Then the bike is worth what an 04 ZX10R is worth and the bits are worth extra.

True,though some folk are of the opinion the bike is worth more with the bits attached.

I think Harley is possibly one of the few brands that is worth more with the bling bolted on.
