i have a thing about doing no more than 140 on the road...i just think its unnecessary. im not being policewoman...just personally im not comfortable doing it. doesnt mean i dont do 140 a lot tho lol  [rofl]

on track, well, the sv650 dont do 140 lol...mebbe downhill with the wind behind...  even on a 15-44/road sprocket setup...

when i used to take the sv thou on track i was happy to wring its neck...certainly over 140 at snetterton...

guess i dont feel the need to keep pushing the envelope on the road any more. not that it seems to have reduced my accident rate  in fact when i was being superbad i didnt have any problems...hmmm....

I am with you Gabs more track I do the slower I ride on the road , Shaun's accident is asserting it even more.....

You cannot put a price on your life..... it doesn't mean ya can't live or can't have fun..... it just means be cautious and doing 172 aint being cautious  :dontknow:

Rumour has it I once did 181 mph on a A road in Derby once (speedo reading)...but obviously couldn't confirm or deny it  [whistle]  It was alledgedly on my way home from Leicester after picking the 10 up...and was like....hmmmm...if I twist this thing on the right what happens.... :icon_scratch: :icon_scratch:  I realised that in fact, it makes the world around go blurry and your arsehole contract ;-)

However, I have to be honest and say that anything for me above 130ish is pushing it a little...certainly on normal road riding!   Too many fooking idiots, who straddle white lines, cut corners, park in wrong places....or as we all found out...leave tractors lying around!  Big open roads I do exceed the limits, but only where I think I can.

Just in case your wondering, I have been banned 4 times for speeding...however did once get caught doing 114 in a 40 and got away with 3 points ;-)  That was in my foolish youth, and have been a very good boy for many years now.  I have actually slowed down since riding.  Very odd....I prefer to save my speed for the track!
