ive raced at lydden a few times this season. its a great track to spectate from because you can see pretty much all of the track at once. thats great for taking pics of mates or watching how others do it.
The start straight out of the pit lane is the fastest section as you can get up a lot of speed and carry a lot of that into the long righthander. then there is devil's elbow, a sharp lefthander thats a lot of fun to get right. there's a break marker noted by a change of surface of the right hand side about 20 metres before it. you should just be skimming the offcircuit on the right hand side on the exit if youre putting the power down right. then up the hill to the hairpin (dont forget that because youre going uphill you can break a little later than on the flat) but apex it late and then down again to a very fast and off camber righthander onto the main straight.
a great little circuit. u will need to muscle the 10 a lot.. just drink lots of water
things to note:
very limited facilities, the road to it is appalling and u will get an overpriced burger van and a loo. thats ur lot
its very eay to miss the turning, which is in the middle of the A2, southbound on the right just a little after the honda dealership, northbound just after a major set of traffic lights. dont head for lydden itself, the circuit is actually in wooton and the sign comes up real fast! take it from someone trying to reverse a trailer in some random driveway at 11pm on a thursday night...
no fuel on site and few petrol stations nearby. nearest is about 5 miles i think
yes the circuit is adapted for offroad biking too...
