Mate of mine had a tarantula as a pet, but didn't know which sort it was.
So I got a book out the library (before tinterweb thingy) and we identified it as a "Bird Eating Tarantula".

That thing was fooking huge and was as big as a dinner plate easily.

dont know but they are supposed to be a delicasy. one or two of me mates have thretened to put one on the barby after a few beers at mine one evening, but they could hardly stand let alone catch one :tongue3:
