lap timers
« on: February 09, 2017, 07:22:37 PM »

i mostly always do trackdays with no limits. the questions i need answering are as follows;

in the brief, they always say no timing allowed, so i always try to hide my laptimer as much as poss. is this really nessessary, are they mega keen on it, cos sometimes it really is a pain to try and conceal without looking guilty?

number 2 is that in the brief they always say no cameras on tank or helmet. helmet i have no problem with, but on you tube you see loads of videos taken by a tank mounted camera, and most vids are from no limits trackdays. so if i were to put a camera on the tank, would i get away with it? many thanx in advance

Don't use a lap timer myself but never seen any one having to remove one at a track day. Many of the modern sports bikes have built in lap timers not sure how that could be monitored either? Some tdo's are hot on the camera mounting but I must admit I have had a camera on the tank a few times, no one said anything.

I use racechrono and whilst I do hide my phone is have the GPS receiver on my yokes have never been questioned about it think there more bothered about ones that actually display the times as you ride incase people look at them whilst riding
