Hi All and thanks for the acceptance.
My names Carl and I live in Leeds and  have just bought myself a 2008 zx10 as an early 40th birthday pressie  :-P. Its my first 1000cc bike and I know very little about them apart from the usual reviews that I have read, but I do love the sound of the Kawasaki on full song. I owned a zx9 C2 for about 4 years and loved everything about it. It was comfy and fast but wanted a newer bike and thought it would make sense to progress to the 10. I rode it home last weekend and my first impressions of the bike were that it felt great. It was very light and smooth and loads of power and surprisingly comfy. Although there were loads of power it didn't particularly feel aggressive as I was expecting. I was expecting a massive surge of power around 8000 rpm but it didn't deliver. Could this be because it has an after market exhaust fitted and the exhaust valve has been removed? I must admit I didn't take the bike to the redline as the roads were very wet when I rode it home and I have no doubt there is more power than I will ever be able to deal with. Are there any tips on things I should do or look out for? Recommended oil etc etc??? Forgive me for my naivety but it is early days and don't know any one who owns a 10 to ask.

Regards Carl

Welcome aboard  :hello2:

I think power delivery is fairly linear with this model, but also strong  ;-)
