Amateur mechanics mini rant
« on: June 25, 2014, 12:16:53 AM »

This is not aimed at anybody on here (hopefully anyway) but I feel the need to vent my frustration at people who try to do a bit of spannering but clearly should NEVER be allowed within 100 miles of a tool box. I've recently been on the lookout for a few parts on ebay just to keep as spares should I ever need them.

I wont go into specific details just in case, but I managed to source one particular item which going by the description and photos appeared to be all in good order. However on its arrival and subsequent closer inspection there is some, lets say 'man made' damage, which literally had me saying WTF!! I mean this is almost worthy of the infamous Shervin ZX10R from the states, you'd have to be seriously stupid to cause this damage. I know everyone likes to save a few pennies by working on their own bikes but for the love of God, if you're not 100% sure what you're doing, leave it to someone who does.  [wall]

Nah, as I said I'm not going to go into specifics in the unlikely event that this has come from somebody on here (or known to). The part in question is repairable and would ultimately be usable again, but my point was just to say you really have to wonder about some people when they do this sort of thing.  [wall]

Lets just say there are holes where none should be.  [naughty]
