So i thought this year i would treat myself to some new leathers, boots, gloves the full monty. I usually wear Alpinestars but ive gone off the brand now as i think they are not made as well as they used to be so i had a look about. I settled on Berik, something different and i know they are owned by Arlen Ness so i went for it. I went on a site FCMOTO Germany, great prices massive discounts, happy days so i ordered a set of Berik in black and white, they took my money and said dispatched in 2-5 days. 4 days later an email saying they are not in stock so it was cancelled, so i decided to order a set of spidi, same thing 4 days later, email, not in stock. I had now gone out and purchased Spidi gloves and boots so i was getting a little bit p'd off so i ordered another set, more expensive and guess what, email cancelled order
I sent them an email asking if they stock anything they claim on the website, no answer. Now i have my heart set on Spidi and ive already purchased the gloves and boots i thought i am going to have to find a UK company and probably pay well over the odds, but at this point i didnt care as i wanted these leathers so i started googling. Came across a company called Firecrest, i thought no way will they have them but i will give them a ring, guess what, the most polite lady answered the phone and not only did she assure me they were in stock she even went and checked for me, i was over the moon with that. I was given a 10% discount code and promised they would be next day delivery, and they were, they actually worked out to be massively cheaper than i previously had found and i was emailed with every step, even suggestions on what size might be better for me.
I am not trying to sway anyones decision on where they buy but if this stops someone else from getting messed about like i did then that cn only be a good thing, its not always the best thing to find a big flashy foreign website with loads of pics and discounts everywhere, what you want is probably right under your nose.
