Managed to get a spare set of downpipes from a forum member that i,ve now removed the Catylitic convertor from. This is in preparation before being fitted when i eventually locate a 2nd hand Power Commander 5. I've read a lot of forums where zx10r owners think they have remved the cat by fitting a link pipe in which ONLY removes the boom box. This is just a silencer box to help quieten the exhaust. The actual Cat is located in the dual pipe part of the downpipes so therefore restricts the exhaust gas flow exiting the engine. I have also read that by removing these it gives extra power once it has been set up with a custom map. I,ve included a couple of pics below to show before, after, what tools I used and what come out! Hopefully it may be of use to someone that wants to remove theirs. picture paints a thousand words and all that. I first used a drill with an extra long dill bit to drill loads of little holes and then i used a hammer and screwdriver to chisel/smash the Cat out. for the deeper parts of the cat i used a hollow square bar with a hammer which allowed me to cut into the Cat materiel and then twist the bar in order to help break it up. This isnt a 10 minute job so please be patient with it, it took me around 45mins to an hour in total.
