hi all in need of a front tyre i will be getting a set (feb - march) but for now i have a sports tyre on the back can i fit a touring tyre on the front till then ? or do you have to stick with the same tread pattern make ect ?

Its best to have the front stickier than the rear dude.

TBH if youre unsure stick with a matched set bud.
If you want good allrounders Id recommend either Michelin 2CT's or Bridgestone BT23's

i wouldn't mix and match tyres if you ride hard ... if you just poodle about then i wont matter to much ...

the reason not to mix is because the difference in grip levels... You will not know which one will give out first and they will give out at different times it will be hard to control feel it letting go

There's also the fact different brands use different profiles, e.g. if you had a Pirelli rear and a Bridgestone front, the rear would be trying to turn in faster.

As said, not too bad if you're just tipping around but any kind of fast riding will show up the difference and it could lead to instability.

The Dunlop Sportsmart is a really good tyre with good feedback with good grip wet or dry. I have one on the front of my busa with a Michelin Power 1 on the back. No problems with handling as I'm sure Andy J can testify.
