Saturday night saw a small down turn in the quality of life when I dislocated my left knee cap in an unfortunate incident. I have dislocated my left ankle before (incident at Chris Curve Cadwell Park), painful and took a long time to recover from, I fractured my collar bone 18 months ago highsiding on the way home from work, shattered it in to 5 pieces, now have a titanium plate, nine screws and a recovering AC joint, still uncomfortable 18 months on but was trackdaying again within 2-3 months I think it was, however........This injury really, really hurt. My knee cap ended up 90 degrees on the wrong side of my knee and no amount of me trying to put it back would move it. 4 shots of morphine and still it wouldn't budge, ended up being put under to have it relocated. I now have a knee the size of a balloon, a rather trick hinged velcro cast and crutches. I can't push a clutch in (in fact I struggle to get into a car full stop) but I am only inches from reaching a rearset. My ankle works fine to up and down shift......I've been signed off for 6 weeks so there is a silver lining, I got turned down for leave to go to the bike show at the NEC, now I can go, small blessings.......
