No wonder we're screwed

No wonder we're screwed in this country . Girl I know who is German has lived here for a few years , she decided to pack her job in and return home to Germany , she has arrived home and gone to claim unemployment benefit while looking for a new job there . Apparently as she packed her job in before leaving England she has to claim unemployment benefit from the UK ! So my taxes and yours are paying her benefit to find work in Germany and she not even going to spend the money in this country !! Is it me , am I the only one that thinks this is crazy ?? Rant over .

The whole thing is buggered, I was reading the other day parents who have immigrated here can legally claim benifits for their children even if the children themselves are not living in the UK  [wall] [wall] [wall] [wall] [wall]

Polish do it all the time - Child benefit, Child Tax Credit, Working Tax Credit - ALL paid at UK rates even if the kids are in Poland.
Go to Poland and its paid at the Polish rate IF your kids are there. Not here - NO money....

At least the German girl worked here so paid NI and tax. More than you can say for a lot of British scroungers who have never worked a day in their lives

Yep she worked while here (and will work in Germany too) but if she chooses to leave here and go home then surely its up to Germany to pay her ? Crazy.

The welfare system in this country is an absolute joke and its no wonder we're in massive financial trouble.

My girlfriend has two sets of friends who demonstrate the situation perfectly. Both sets with 3 kids, one set both parents in full time work, the other set on benefits. Guess which set has the higher income per annum,

yep, the ones on benefits.

There are more and more people taking money out of the system and less putting money in. Something MUST change or we're all fucked.
