I don't have any serious problems with wrists. its back and my knees mostly.
but its not only that. I just lost this passion for supersport bike somewhere along the way, this joy if u know what I mean.
didn't take my bike out a lot this "summer" maybe that's why.
and I know I'm not using this bike to its potential. I gave up an idea of putting the knee down, I'm not doing track days anymore.
I really like my bike but maybe its time for a change.
OK, well theres things you can do about back and knees - adjustable rearsets and clipons and a double-bubble screen for starters.
Maybe you just need someone like yourself to ride with more often? To get more out of the bike, and generally to get out more. I'll happily kit-up for just an hour, but i'm more fussy who i'll ride all day with. For me, its a waste of fuel going on a sight-seeing ride and spending most of the day below the speed limits.
As for getting your knee down, speak to anyone in the know, and they'll all tell you its a disadvantage on the roads. Its something for heros, wannabe's etc. It works on the tracks with long smooth corners, but you only have to watch the TT and similar road races to see how little they do it on the road. Leon Haslam said that the road isn't suited to such extremes of body movement, and in doing so, it actually makes a rider slower and less composed.
So maybe you just need to change where you ride, who you ride with, even how you ride to regain some of the enjoyment of owning a litre superbike. For me, the slight discomfort is worth it everytime I head out knowing that i'm one of the fastest things on the roads.
