Tyres move as quickly as bikes to these days so for someone that has been away for 4 years

whats good and whats not ....

what good for sticky track tyres are super corsas still around , racetecs etc ... Have they moved on are they better compounds now ??

cross/multi compound road tyres ... Michelin 2 ct's were good corsa 3's weren't bad

whats the score on the more road going sticky tyres

and last but not least what do you run ??  :icon_thumright:

Either of these should do. I am on the Diablo rosso corsa's and its a great tyre for my riding ability any way... not so confidence inspiring in the wet though but I avoid riding in the wet where I can  :icon_thumleft:

Been running on the sport smarts for a year now can't fault them done 4,000 mls on them and still got loads of life. Dual compound warm up well and good in the wet mind you having carbon wheels help with the tyre wear. :icon_thumright:

2ct's and Corsa III's are made of nylon in comparrison to what is available 'from the shelf' nowadays.

Dunlop Sport Smarts...brilliant road tyre, suits all sports and naked bikes.
Dunlop GP Racers...How much grip do you want? Both the Sport Smarts and these have the added bonus of dropping the PSi for harder riding/track time.

Bridgestone have the new S20's. Again these are doing the biz...haven't tried them but have a multi-compound carcass to aid a 'bit of what you fancy'
The R10's are mega tyres, super sticky but better left for track time.

Metzeler...the racetecs or 'interacs' are brilliant....a step further than the regular K1,K2 and K3's available when you last rode.

Pirelli....still doing the business with the Diablo range. The Rosso's are bloody good for inters on track so will suit perfectly for road use.
The Super Corsa's are still amazing....SP's for road use or SC for track.

This is only the thin end of the wedge, we are truly blessed with brilliant rubber, it's just down to what personal preferences you have and whether you have loyalty to a particular brand.

You could give BT016's a whirl. Defo better feedback on the limit than 2CT's

it had an 016 on the front didn't really instill confidence ... and to be fair if you see how yogi rides if they are good enough for him on the road they defo are for me for now while on this one.... but I am defo interested in the pirelli's mentioned above  :icon_thumleft:

My probs with the 2ct's (altho a cracking tyre) is that feedback diminished rapidly towards the limits and the fronts only lasted about 400 miles more than the rears.
Theyre good 99.5% of the time and pretty good in the wet tho.

I just run plain old Diablo Corsa's no dramas no frills but inspiring and confidence building. On gripy rough Yorkshire roads anything softer does not last me long enough to get my monies worth
