the road is open to public traffic it's not a private event, sounds like a load of bollocks to me

I would have to agree with you there Andy - just because a road in town is a one-way doesn't make it a race track. The fact that racing takes place on that road is immaterial. Just my 2 cents

I wont be there, but sounds like insurance companies doing their usual. Every year when Mad Sunday takes place (except those occasions when racing moved to the Sunday due to bad weather Saturday, the mountain is made one way. It is still a public road.  All that is happening is that the police are not allowing you to travel the course in the opposite direction.  They  usually run a one way system for the first hour after roads open as well to clear traffic. Does this mean when roads are made one way for road works etc that you arent insured then ? Bollocks I say.

scare tactic guys, yes it does have whats known as a TRO (traffic Regulation Order)  its still a publice road and this year is in force for the whole race week 24hrs a day except during races when road is closed.

like to see them try and get out of it in court...
