Not everywhere, mostly at supermarkets, and who'd put supermarket fuel in a ZX10r?

Me. Good old sainsbury's 95. Any reason not to?

Supermarket fuel used to have a higher percentage of ethanol. Shell & BP also put fuel system cleaners in their fuel, to keep the jets/injectors cleaner, and to remove carbon deposits from the valves.

Think for the most part, mainstream supermarkets fuel isn't that different to rip off BP, shell etc etc....it's pretty small potatoes to be honest. I've not noticed any difference in performance (especially track riding) to warrant paying the extra for what?

On the subject of taking your lid off at the pump......fuck 'em. Bit different if your in the shop itself for obvious reasons but to despense fuel? Nah....piss take. IMHO.

just ride it less, I've never had a problem, i fill it up in my own garage from a jerry can each year to take it for the mot and then leave it

or
2. Shop elsewhere

The only time i have been asked was when i walked into a countryside postoffice and forgot to take my lid off with my black visor... wondered why everyone looked worried

There you go that is a far more positive reply to the standard churned out email.
If you like being descriminated against thats fine, but you have to stand up for your rights. If you want take your helmet off thats cool but surely it's if YOU want to take it off not what others tell you to do.

Having to take my helmet off is a bit of a pain in the bum but I would do this at night or if I could see a female CA as it might intimidate. That said no robber would take it off even if the sign on the door said to do so!!!
As for supermarket fuel, whats the issue, do you believe all that garb they tell you? If I could feel or see any difference I might give a toss, I've never owned a bike with over 12000 miles on it anyway. I run my 911 on it too, runs fine and even the Porsche main dealer agrees that V Shell and their competition are a farce. Save some money, buy supermarket RON 95 and get keep your hat on, simples!!!

You notice the difference on older, or less technically advanced engines. Modern engines have knock sensors which detect pre-ignition(pinking) and adjust the ignition timing accordingly without the driver knowing. If you drive an older car on cheaper fuel, the pinking is far more evident, indicating a difference in how the fuels burn.

Nout wrong with Asda fuel, use it in the Bus to reasonable effect. Oh and I never take my lid off, wouldnt want to scare anyone. Mind you not much chance of that at the Welsh pay at the pump Asda

Pay at pump is the way to go! At the Morrisons near me they have two lanes for pay at pump and four of the more conventional type pumps. They wont turn them on unless you remove your lid at the normal pumps but they dont stop the pay at pump ones.
This doesnt prevent someone using a dodgy card at the pump though to get fuel and remain unidentifiable

Never had a problem, never take my helmet (dark visor) off whether I pay at the pump or in the shop, usually in a rush so it would piss me off if they insisted and probably wouldn't use them again.  I would definately resent being asked.

I used to care, but now i dont. It really isnt an issue, as for leaving your lid on the diesel'ey floor, shove it on your mirror.

I guess you've never:
A) bought an expensive helmet
B) seen a helmet fall from a mirror when the arm has moved
