Thanks all! Still have a few mods to do but it all costs money so will just be as and when funds allow  :glasses9:

Just ordered a clear double bubble screen.

Would also like some;
Stomp Grip or Techspec traction pads;
Clear front and rear indicators;
Down gear at next chain/sprocket change;
Carbon huggers, chain guard and seat infills;
Rad Guard;
Carbon heel plates;
PC III + Dyno tune;

LoL quite a list, we'll see how it progresses ;)

Hi, Brilliant write up and great pictures! +BHP!!
 I am thinking of getting a Rifleman 1/5 throttle insert, how do you find it for road riding? Both longish and short distance, around town?
I have now bought front Nissin calipers from an '09 GTR1400 and a rear
caliper from an '08 ZX10r. Still considering a Brembo 18/20 RCS MC.
Think I'll wait and see how good the Nissins are first!
Next on my list is a pair of Metzeler M5's. I have a 190-55-17 rear at present, not sure whether to go back to 190-50-17 next tyre change?
Cheers

Thanks. I haven't had a chance to try the throttle yet as the weathers not been good enough whenever I've been free. From what I hear, after about an hour it'll just be second nature just like a stock one.

When I changed from the Michelins to the Metzelers I changed to a 55 and loved the difference it made :-)

Hi, Cheers! Was the 1/5 throttle insert easy to fit? Did you need to modify the cable adjusters under the fuel tank? I've just ordered one from Rifleman, had a quick action 1/4 turn throttle on my ZX7r and loved it! All we need now is a Summer!!!

I think I was quite lucky, all I did was snip off both of the lock nuts from each adjuster on the accel cable (One to the right of the rad and one under the airbox) and loosen the cable off as much as possible.  I also lubed up the cables pretty good too.  It is a little stiffer than before but still returns to closed position, just not as snappy as before.  My old ZXR750 didnt have a return cable and so was manual closing pretty much and it never made any difference to me :)

You're right about the summer!!

Hi, did you try cleaning and WD40 the handle bar under the throttle tube? I had a sticking or not as snappy, throttle, was just crap under the throttle tube! Cheers

Hi there, yeah I did that too. I reckon its because the cables are a bit tight, but its nothing that will effect my riding so it should loosen off when the cables stretch a little more.  I couldve/shouldve cut a little of the thread off of the adjusters but cba  :emb:

Pack your hugger out now if you dont want a hole in it!

a 55 tyre will rub on the centre of it!

Other than that, awesome write up!

Thanks, I've done over 1000 miles on the 55 and its not rubbing. I expect its possibly because its not a new chain so the initial stretch means its not rubbing. But Im going for different gearing when I do, so will probably need a different length chain and will take any possible rubbing issues into account.

1/5 throttle insert definitely better, doesn't take any getting used to ...

Cables just a little to tight will cause throttle to stick / be stiff ... little tip worth doing at same time, ....  fit later cables with both adjusters near handlebar end, makes it much easier to set up properly, particularly when you've fitted an insert and have less adjustment to play with.

Hi, when you say, "fit later cables", would '06-'07 cables be ok?
Cheers

04 / 05 cables have one of the adjusters under the tank, (throttle body end)

example see ebay listing :- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/05-Kawasaki-ZX10-ZX-10R-ZX10R-ZX1000-Ninja-Throttle-Cables-Housing-/290648166511?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item43abfb106f

06/07 have both adjusters handbar end.

see ebay listing example :- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/06-07-ZX-10R-ZX10R-Throttle-Cables-Guide-Tube-/270990878418?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f1850a6d2

I'm currently working on what i think will be a better way to modify the cables when you fit a 1/5 insert, still using later type cables, will post up once completed and tested.

Thank you! I've got a 1/5 Throttle insert on the way. Ordering an '06 throttle cable today. I'm going to hold off fitting them, looking forward to your post.
