Crash Bung issues on a 2007 ZX10R
« on: June 17, 2011, 03:19:06 PM »

Hi All,
So i picked up my little beauty on Wednesday (Pictures will follow) and i find out the dealer was unable to put the left hand side Crash Bung on because there is a coolant bottle behind the fairing. As you may or may not know the fairing needs to be drilled so the bung can be bolted to the engine but because the coolant bottle is in the way it needs some sort of adjustment or new shaped bottle so you can get the bolt through.

Has anybody else had this isuue? I ask as the dealer as had to get onto R&G and they seem to be making a new coolant bottle up, surely they would know this issue and send the correct things out with the bungs :icon_scratch:

Anyway any input or solutions much appreciated and if i find a solution i will post on here with whats been done.

Cheers
Hooj

Had this done on my 2010 before I picked it up from the dealer and the coolant bottle had to be changed. It seems to have come with the kit from R&G.

as above a coolent bottle with a strategically located hole should have come with the bungs, did you buy them 2nd hand?

give R&G a call and they should be able to supply it

The injection moulding they use to make these things isn't upto much, same issues with mine when I owned my 07 10R. Took three bottles to get it right. I also feel for you Hooj, having to wait for this.

The bottle is part of the kit and if it's not there the dealer needs to sort his shit out.

mine came fitted fromn the dealer. As Hammy says I'm sure it is part of the kit as you couldn't fit them otherwise
