Yes, in reply to Flipper the chicane in the middle of the straight.....I obviously got rumour of the chicane prior to the event- this was partly the guy who indemnifies the event wanting to slow things down and partly as riders on 600's and smaller complained about the length of it last year. I agree with you Flipper and I made representations to the same effect that the straight chicane would not achieve slower top speeds, I think we'd still top out from a standing start at that chicane. In the organisers defence he did compromise both this year and last year with the chicane near the start/finish- both years it has initially been set out much tighter to reduce speed to around 40-50 mph. He did compromise with me and allowed me to open it up to allow carriage of speed across and into the runway to give us a corner like Gerrards. I agree that the midway chicane was likely to be the accident black spot but it had to remain ironically to comply with the insurance plan. Your not the only one to percieve it opened out after lunch, I can't work out why....
Where exactly did you crash Flipper???
Great footage Phil, can we use it on next years website mate?

Hi Mat, unfortunately I crashed on the last left before the straight. I forgot to say my mate and me had a bit of a moment going around 'Gerards' as there was a travelling marshal who was travelling considerably slower then eveyone and drifted out as we came around the corner. My mate nearly ended up on the grass and I thought I was heading that way too. I appreciate they will be travelling slower, but, I think they should stay off the racing line if thats the case.......   ;-)

The trackday photos are out on Ryans website www.britishmotorsportphotography.com
They look good with  a percentage going to charity - RAF Benevolent Fund and Lincs Air Ambulance which kindly kept watch over us for the day.
