I actually found the 05 10R very stable, but agree front end can get very lively over the bumps of British roads.

Had a great 70 mile ride home with her yesterday.  What an exciting bike.  Felt as chuckable as a BMX after the busa.  I was also impressed with the lowdown grunt, after the reviews I'd read I expected it to be lacking in that area.

Front brakes weren't great, am I better off with a caliper or MC upgrade.  I like the gold calipers so I don't relly want to change them.  Also the mirrors are really bad!

Do you have braided lines fitted.

That's all i did to mine ad they were plenty good enough 

Maybe try a different type of pad, whats in them at the mo'? OE pads still

They are braided, standard set up, not race.  Doubt if that makes much difference though.  Not sure on the pads.  I'll test them out better next time I'm out.  Cheers.

Is the lever stiff or spongy, might they need bleeding?

Might be an idea if your handy with doing your own bike servicing, give a brake fluid change and a new set of pads.

Whats the bike mileage? maybe worth just double checking disc thickness against the pad where.

Truthfully I thought the 05 brakes were good enough for fast road and odd trackday use.

I'm sure if you post up a question in the right thread, current 05 owners may have news on current good pads, etc for your bike.

I took the calipers off my 05 for a good clean up with very hot water and fairy liquid. Made sure pistons ran freely and pads were not glazed over. You can take the glaze off with some glass paper. New braided hoses and back bleeding from the caliper with a big placcy syringe (E Bay) seems to get good results. I also had shims on the backs of the pads, which may have helped with heat dissipation (its heat that causes brake fade at high speed) I was more than happy with the result for normal road riding

Thanks for the advice all.  I've ordered some new braided lines, as the ones on there have zinc ends and look crap.  I will strip the calipers and check the pads at the same time.

Welcome  Best colour, and model, but I'm biased .Your going to love it!  Just don't get into which is the fastest colour on here.....just say you've bought the right one

Quick question for you folks.  My bike came with a carbon scorpion extreme exhaust.  Unfortunately it blows where the link pipe meets the standard exhaust.  I noticed the original link pipe has some sort of spong gasket inside it.  Where can I get one of these for the scorpion link pipe?  Cheers.
