The chances are, once you get into trackdays, you'll get addicted.  You could pick up a track bike cheap enough, but its worth trying to get hold of a bike with spare wheels for wets etc.  You can get a whole set up for good money if you keep your eye out.......that way you wont be looking for spare sets of wheels etc in a few months time, which can be hard to find or are pricey, depending on the bike.  Even if you do change your mind, track bikes tend to hold their money quite well.

Its well worth going to a few trackdays, even just to pull up and watch (for free), and walk around the paddock.  There is nearly always someone selling a bike, which will give you a good idea of whats out there.
