Motorcycle Mechanic

Hi all, just looking for a bit of advice as im thinking of doing a motorcycle mechanics apprenticeship. Does anybody have an idea of the average pay for a bike mechanic?

yer shit unless your the owner ....long hours mine was 8 till 6 but worked most of the time till 9 pm + sat and the he wanted to start Sunday's to  :shock:
fuck that ive got no life now  :mad: buy buy ....not all are the same tho

Cheers for the replies, so its probably not much better than the job i start on monday in the slaughter house packing meat! cant fuckin wait!!  [rofl]

become a UNIX contractor...then get other people to fix ya bike!!!

though i'd swap my knowledge of Logical Domains & network storage to get more ponies and smooth out the fuelling of my Ninja like some of the bike fitters on this forum.

Well if you do an actual apprenticeship, then your emplyer is not obligated to pay you minimum wage. So really it depends on how tight/genrous your boss is. When i started my boss was a stingy git, i took home 300 a months at first, after 2 1/2 years it went up to the heady heights of 450pm! Although when your qualified i think my supervisor at the time was earing bout 1500pm. so not a huge amount but liveable...
