Bare metal, lots of it
« on: April 14, 2010, 09:32:57 PM »

well here is my bike, just about ready for bodywork with a few minor details to sort out (pics taken on sat) quite proud to say all work done by myself, apart from i had a few parts machined by local engineers (to my drawings/specs)

yes front wheel is in back to front as a put it in quick to get her on drive for some pics in the sun.

just waiting on quickshifter now then can get airbox in (already trial fitted and been working)

few points/additions from this years rebuild....

full strip down to bare frame whaich was blasted then i sanded down all extruded parts for a brushed finish but left cast parts with the rough blast finish.
all new genuine bearings, few new nuts and bolts here and there too
bst wheels
ohlins 08 front and rear.
swingarm modded with my own jsb1000 style quick release system (captive caliper carrier/chain adj blocks and off set disc)
qb carbon airbox.
throttle bodies modded to suit airbox - 2ndaries removed along with their shaft and motor, holes jb welded rebuilt then vaccum sync'd.
2006 injectors.
crancase breather relocated with oil catchtank.
speedohealer to work with 06 clocks (still to fit need to sort loom still)
Harris clutch lever.
Map switch for motty afr tuner (still loose in pics)
spacers to suit brembos to fokrs.
front fender brackets on ohlins forks to suit ex zx-rr 2006 moto-gp fender.
xenon/hid light conversion with ballast.

thats about all i can remember for now, everything else was already there from previous years or been upgraded/replaced with above mods...

ps also ex tt large capacity tank ( still not painted yet might be done for ace cafe kwak day...)

Thats a nice build, looks great with stripped frame and arm, I'd take it off the road once they start gritting though . . . . . . . . . .  [whistle]
