bit of a bigger job than i first thought but i am very happy with the results as this is the first time i have ever attempted to spray anything just waiting for a clear screen and seat foam to turn up

cheers for the replys hopefully see some of you on trackdays this year only did 3 last year due to being on 3 days a week at work for most of the year but back on full time now and hopeing to do alot more

could I ask what type paint you used and if you had any problems with it?

I've just picked up some race fairings that need repairing and painting not sure which way to go with the paint yet though

hi mate it was some sort of cellulose paint and thinners that a mate of a mate got for me i will try to find out some more information on it for you.
as for problems it was'nt too bad but have a practice on something to find out how much thinners to use as i put the first coat of white on way too thick and it didnt spread properly and leave a day between coats as when i put a second coat of white on the day after the first as it dryed it pulled the first coat off the pannels and caused little ripples which i had to sand again but that could also be down to the first coat being to thick but i never took that chance again and left a day inbetween.  but overall i quite enjoyed it prepping the bodywork first is alot worse than the actual spraying.

Cheers that helps, I'got to repair a 08 fairing (only got 08 because it was cheap) and make it fit my 05 was thinking of using cheap cans (matt black) but think I may go for a lairy 70's theme bit like this though 





See how brave I feel once the prep's done in 3 weeks or so...
