need some help guys
« on: March 30, 2010, 08:15:38 PM »

rite as ive said in an earlier post about my rc8 ive had some issues

1- first day riding home gear shifter wouldnt return they had over tightened the bolt on the spline
2- rear brake light mysteriously stops working and then it starts working again
3- bike wouldnt rev past 6000 rpm turns out when dream machine done the paint job they never cleaned the tank out and left a load of grit/dust in it which blocked the fuel pump
4- bike falls over in the transport van and damages it

the dealer has been sound and retified the problems and is sorting out the damage to the bike but im not too happy about the grit stuff in the tank etc,

what im asking is what are my rights, if this stuff has got into the engine its gonna make a rite mess

the bike is only ten days old

im not happy taking this bike back

any help appreciated

(cue the ktm jokes  [rofl])

whatja eggspecked  [whistle]

seriously though, there is the sales of goods act albeit the 4th point is unrelated  :icon_thumright:

Personally, if you aren't happy and they can be a difficult bike tolive with too, I'd get to CAB to see what advice they provide really   :icon_thumleft:

I thought when you originally spoke to the dealer about the 6K issues that they said they knew what was wrong/simple fix and now there telling you it is another companies faulty, straight away I have lost faith in that dealer if I am reading the signs right.

they firstly told me sometimes when it gets low on fuel the filter in the fuel pump collapses due to pressure and restricts the fuel

Another question I have is, why would Dream Machine have to the tank open (did they paint in there too?), unless there is a reason for them to do so I can see a Dream Machine / Dealer dispute coming on.

ooops,I forgot

Dream Machine are a reputable company who know what they are doing and have painted bikes for years. I would be surprised if  it's caused by them  :icon_scratch:

To me it sounds like your dealer is trying the old, its not us its someone else routine  [wall]

Sounds like the dealer trying to fob you off there bud, Dream Machine are so well known and have a good reputation, I have never heard of this before getting shit in the tank they would have blanked it off before spraying it.! Get on to the dealers and tell them to get it sorted ASAP, or you will be getting legal advice to resolve the issue, this should not happen on a brand new bike. :pottytrain2:

Good call mate  :icon_thumright: that's where I go if I'm not sure, and then I always follow their advice up with a letter sent recorded delivery, just so you are covered etc..
