New to ZX10's - well the modern ones anyway!!
« on: March 12, 2010, 04:18:51 PM »

Hi all, I've just turned in my gixxer for an 08 ZX10r and have to say that so far I love it to bits!
I've been riding for about 30 years and have to say it's the maddest bit of kit I've ever slung my leg over.
It is totally standard, so I'm already in the process of putting a tail tidy on it to smarten up the rear and also having the steering damper rebuilt to race spec.

Exhaust can/system etc etc will come later.

Is there anything technical or otherwise that I should be aware of or look out for on it?

One odd thing that I have noticed, the engine coolant temperature runs at about 60 degrees C in this very cold weather, but very soon climbs once stationery. Is this normal for it to run so cool?

Can't wait to do a trackday on the thing!!!

Thanks
Mark

I had a 1000zk4 (the black one)! It was a great bike but getting a bit old so fancied a change and so far I'm glad I did.
By the way, the forum seems very friendly, thanks for the welcome messages.
