mmmmm well i do think that if your legs are longer when you are hanging off your knee will be closer to
the floor for any given angle of lean.

your upper and lower leg form a triangle betwen your arse cheek and foot rest, so when you are hanging off if your
upper and lower legs are longer than mine for instance by 3inches (both upper and lower leg) your knee will touch
the floor before mine, i will have to cary more lean angle than you to achieve knee down.

I am (really) the fastest rider among my mates, and don`t get my knee down but always have a very thin chicken strip on my rear tyre,(road riding). Just can`t seem to get that little bit more with the ten....... I know knee down is not the quickest way to ride....but it bloody well looks so cool!!!!    :hello2:

According to me chicken strips or lack of them I'm at the edge of my tyres when I get me knee down soo your logic only sort of makes sense  ;-)

yeah I don't ride knee down on every bend ... just the local haunts to get it out of my system.....

the mountain road was different it felt like a track and the fact I hit it so many time made it feel like it too....

I will follow you round and then tell you how far you were..... I will then let you know what I think will make you touch down... i.e body position or putting knee out more etc.... then you can follow me and look at me then you can decide you best way..... I find on the circuit it you go in slowish but position right and get smooth power on though the bend you will touch down..... this will not be the fastest way to get round the bend but it will be the most confidence inspiring way of getting you knee down..... once you have touched you can then hammer it in lean the bike over with the power smooth through and then power out as you would normally  :icon_thumleft:

if you at the edge of you tyres and trying to get you knee down this is a bit frightening... if you cain it imagine where you will be on your tyre if you are trying to carry corner speed..... are you pressure right for you ???

i agree lack of chicken stripps means you are up to the edge of your tyre, however  you may have for example 3inches of contact patch running from the edge to the centre of your tyre. if you lean more you will still be on the edge of the tyre but
you may only have 2inches of tyre on the road from edge towards the centre of your tyre. so even though youare on the edge of the tyre you are carrying more lean.

you can se this by pushing a tyre over on to its edge that is not fitted to the bike to see what i mean, also as you know tyres
deform slightly at there contact patch.

Only the edge of my rear tyre, front there is not all used by a long way

I mean I can only assume I'm on the edge of my tyre when I do knee down at roundabouts, I've not seen pictures of me doing it... I don't know how much I hang off etc

Pressures are fine

:icon_thumleft: will do though silverstone is so not the place to do it  :dontknow: its better if you could come down here... even better it you could before silverstone cause then you can take you new found skill and know how far you bike leans before you get your knee down.....

I must say though there are people on here that are 10 times better than me Jon177 for one but he can't get on because his internet is broken Henas is good at scratching action.... SaffieD too  :icon_thumleft:
