Hi Paul

He doesn't misstreat his stuff at all.

he has lost the spoiler thingy off the rear first (between the exhaust outlets)

then one of the sidepods last saturday.

biggest problem is it was bought from J&S which after a phonecall to Arai UK it seems are not a UK dealer so he has no warranty.
So if you want an Arai don't use J&S as according to Arai UK they are not UK models and have no warranty.

He had an RX7RR4 before same as mine and thats still mint 3 years and 50,000 miles.

Suomy spec 1r, a few years old now but i rarely ride and it's kept stored a lot in the dark so no need to replace yet, it's a great comfy lid , no complaints from me  :headbang:

Shoei XR 1000 GSXR one and I have the misting problem on trackdays too  :roll: Apart form that it's a comfy quiet lid  :icon_thumright:

Yeah thats the problem with buying from the likes of J&S as they only sell unofficially imported Arais so you have no back up in such cases. Just out of interest what does he use to clean the helmet with as certain so called 'helmet cleaners' actually contain nasty chemicals that affect plastics making them brittle. In all my years experience of selling helmets its not very often that things break for absolutely no reason.

XR1000 for me,its the shape of your head that matters.

i have an arai,it fits good but i prefer my XR1000.

Arai Corsair. Very very comfortable.

Yeah it makes a bit of noise but I just make sure I always have an earplug (deaf in left ear - non Arai related I should add).

Expensive. But then again so's my head.

had a shoei z-one and a hjc HQ-1 which were both good and comfortable.

curently got an agv gp-tec (the 7 one) and although its light im not that happy with it,quality is a bit suspect and the visor mechanism sticks at times, its my first agv and i,l proberbly go back to a shoei next time.

I have just bought an X-Spirit and have got a question for anyone who owns one. Does the chin vent lock shut - mine moves open and closed easily with no click shut mechanism. Just wondered if this is how the vent works. I have had the XR1000 prior to this and Arais before that. All good lids but the Shoeis are quieter for me.

Shoei XR1000 for me, fit's well, is light & not too noisy.

Also have a Schuberth S1, very well made lid & by far the quietest I've ever used, but find that using it on a sports bike you have to keep your head tilted back to see into the distance, which can get a bit painful after a while, but it's the lid of choice for commuting on the Bandit - the flip down sun visor is brilliant for those autumn mornings when you're riding into low sun.

Have a Roof one somewhere too, another great lid, I really liked it, but however, it's  spoilt by the visor changing mechanism - I just can't be arsed having to mess around with screws anymore, so 1980s.....  B-)

Arai rx7rr been using them for 5 years now, never had it missed up i find it loud but it also meens i can hear what the bike is doing. i tryed the new gp on but it doesn't fit  :mad: to much presure on my ears  :cry:.

i'm going to Silverstone BSB to have a chat with arai to see if we can get one to fit.

i'm running a condor at the mo, it fits very well and is very very quite but mists up and is very hot.

Should just be a change of cheek pads. I'm sure i saw somewhere that the corsair pads were the same  and you could stick your old ones in for the perfect fit :oS

If you use the Shoei wind guard then it would make it a lot quieter.  My XR1000 is brills since I had mine installed.  Thoroughly recommend it.   :icon_thumright:
