For most people just getting on a motorbike is enough to make them tremble with nerves - but for these highly-skilled daredevils it's their job to ride into mid-air and perform gravity-defying stunts.

These incredible images show some of the most heart-stopping tricks which thrilled a crowd at a motocross show at Battersea Power Station on Saturday.

In one image a rider is pictured sailing through the air completely detached from his bike as it drops towards the ground beneath him.

First thing i knew about this was when i saw it on Dave on Saturday night. I'd read nothing about it beforehand and had no idea it was on.

Couldn't believe it. I live about a mile away from it, but had had... er... a few ales... on Saturday evening and so had no hope of making it down there to watch live.

Landing a jump no handed shows either extreme bravery or a wanton disregard for one's testicles.
