I am new here, my name is Jen and I drive a 2005 ZX10R almost every day
I bought the bike new in July '05 and have covered almost 13000 miles since, both on road and track. It is of course green, and modifications so far are as follows. When it was still new I stripped all the black plastic bits and the wheels off and re-sprayed them in VW Magic Black, which is a proper metallic black rather than that revolting matt brown they were originally. Not long after that I added Goodridge hoses and a Brembo Master cylinder to the front brakes in an effort to make them work a bit better.
Other mods include an Ohlins steering damper, Kawasaki branded DB screen and the obligatory Akrapovic end can. I had it dyno'd at 164.7 RWHP like this a couple of summers ago.
Most recently, I gave up on the stock brakes altogether and fitted a pair of Tokico calipers from a 2006 Fireblade. I now have brakes which are worthy of the name and cheaper pad replacement into the bargain!
I am planning on doing a big strip down this winter since the bike has never been serviced beyond oil, filters and brakes. Looking forward to doing a few more mods and getting it running like new again.
One thing I am currently trying to find is one of those little throttle inserts to reduce the turnage required, if anyone can help with that?
