right so this morning I get up tired as fook, got ready and went to get the bike out the garage and thought feck this feels a bit funny I looked back and thought the bike had be snagged on something so I looked down and there it was.... fecking flat tyre... so and I have been saying for about a month I need a new tyre. so I decided rather than try and pump it up and get the last bit of life out of it I thought I would change my tyres now...

So phoned around and being sat you can imagine not many places got what I want.... first choice would of been the 2 CT's then supra corsa's , then race tecs.... did anyone have them in stock noooo...

so this is my story of how I test the all new Avon Viper's

Now this isn't going to be a story of 150 mile an hour sweeping bends tyre holding on etc etc but it will be a story of how my bike with the 208's felt skittish and un-easy so lets see how the story goes........ they go on just after 1pm then I am off out to srub them in I will give my first test story when I am back.... If I don't post here again you know they/I was crap and I have pitched off  [rofl]

Are the 208's the same as the Qualifiers?

I should pick the bike up next weekend and its got Dunlop Qualifiers on it, from what i have read most people find them a pretty decent road tyres, but a bit out of their league on the track.

I will prbably be looking at Pilot Power 2CT once they are due for a change, but th evipers get a great review.

nah not the same as the qualifiers... I have heard they are ok but still don't give enough feel to the bike  :icon_thumright:

qualifiers are crap.fitted some super corsa pros.i'll let you know how they are.

Glenn i just posted about my scrubbing in of a set of Viper supersports in my tyre post.

Did you get supersports or just the sports?

They get my vote anyway. I was absolutely giving them death after 15 miles and banging through the gears whilst cranked over on full throttle and they are glued.

Cant wait to see how you got on.

Right here goes then....

before I had no confidence in my bike and I admit that I am no hardcore rider but I really thought my riding was crap on this bike.... it was really skittish and really jumped about the tire was rock it always bumped about and slip on white lines... I felt like a riding god on my 636 and I really felt I made a big mistake buy trading in but I was wrong.

the tyres I fitted today were the Avon Viper Xtreme's these are a new tyre and the bloke today said that I am one of the first to get these tyre.... I got a 190/55 rear as they didn't have the 190/50

Now I have to tell you its a different bike. the guy said that I should give it 50 to 100 miles before giving it some but I didn't need to, I warmed em up gave it about 20 miles easy and then just let rip.. these things grip... they are awesome I would recommend them for defo.... though I can't compare them with corsa's but I have riden 010's, 014's, dunlops 208 and these out of the 4 tyres are amazing.... the guy has been using the super sport the same as Jon177 has and he said they are awesome he runs 2 bikes an R1 and a 600 mini blade and both bikes are getting track times to match the corsa's so I am sold...

now I was only out for about an hours and did about 50/60 miles or so didn't manage to get it right over to much traffic but here's a picture

They are Avon's answer to Racetec/SC Pros. Road legal track tyre. Bet they are the bollocks after my experience with the supersports today.

yeah I agree mate I was really worried though but think I might just use these more than enough for me  :icon_thumleft:

got caught with a little bit of wet road and before I left fox's today Jon177 goes they won't be good in wet..... so I took it a bit gingerly not sure whther to trust them as not tread on the edges but other than that these things are awesome  :icon_thumright:
