rossi wasn't happy about something
« on: April 14, 2009, 11:46:52 AM »

Did you see the interview after the race? been a while since Rossi looked so dismayed! Wonder if it was to piss Stoner off and take him off his game plan or because he felt as though Lorenzo held him up in the first lap of the race - thus preventing him from catching stoner????

i think rossi rode as hard as he could but the reality of not being able to catch stoner really pissed him off!

Was it just me or was that race like watching paint dry?

It was a shite race really its a ducati biased track really with that long straight and Ducati's top end no one else can match there bike its blooming rapid. i think this year could be a really boring season for MOTO GP there are only going to be 3/4 riders in with the chance of the title this year, rossi, stoner, dovi & lorenzo. I think the WSBK's is going to be a better event to watch this year. BSB races were good this weekend!  :headbang:

The season should get better as they start to get used to the Bridgestones....The fact that they were chiefly developed with Ducati though stinks.  Single tyre regs are supposed to give closer racing and eliminate domination.....how can that happen if one bike manufacturer is more involved in the development than the others.

next yr it will be better as they're talking of running a lesser traction control systm and loosing things like launch control... so more down to rider than bike... now dont get me wrong stoner is bloomin fast on that ducati and a fantastic rider but without all them electrics i think he'll suffer a few offs next yr

meanwhile we can only hope and pray for close racing

In my opinion, the only thing at the moment that will produce closer racing would be a mandatory top speed limit on all bikes. There is far too much of a disparity between the quickest and slowest bikes on the track which is killing the sport as a spectacle.

By all the bikes having no top speed advantage over their rivals it would make for much closer racing instead of the Ducati drag race show currently masquerading as MotoGP.  :tongue3:

Or maybe a fixed budget for each bike/rider combination. A top rider will cost more to hire leaving less money to spend on the bike and vice versa.
Put Rossi on a Puch Maxi and i reckon i could give him a good race on an RC211v!

Would also make it more dangerous.

also its not necessarily the top speed but the time it takes to get there......

remove a lot of the gadgets - traction control - launch control - fuel mapping to make it to the end of the race and leave it to the rider and give him enough fuel to be certain of getting there, then when someones goin slow we know its not cos the engine is restricting him, but its the rider goin slow!!!!
