I took a 3 mile drive to my local dealers yesterday, I passed signs that flashed "slow down" despite being 5mph under the limit, I passed several billboarding saying "Speed Kills" and all the road traffic information signs said "Kill your speed".  I must have passed about 10 signs in 3 miles, it's an outrageous waste of taxpayers money.  Nobody has died of speed, end of argument, it's impact that kills.

On a lighter note, I saw my first 09 bike at the dealers, it was a fashion-victim wobbly-crank R1 just about to go through the door.

it wont, i  bet a lot of these crashes, people were speeding anyway so the new limit wont really make a difference, if the road isn't suitible to go 60, you'd slow down yourself anyway, once these average speed camera's are everywhere were all fucked, i'm glad i've got my 10r now!!

Utter bollocks and the governments own statistics shows that speed doesn't kill. Its the innapropriate speed but mainly the inexperienced or poor standard of driving that kills more than anything else.
Sign the petition guys and make the cages have to jump throught the same hoops we have to.

I have thought about the no plate thing.

How about this.... You take your plate off but keep it on you when riding. scuff it up a bit then if/when pulled over just say if fell off. your mate saw it and you went back and picked it up

Speeding only causes about 6% of all road traffic accidents (though the government would have you believe its far more)

Even if you completely eradicate all speeding, you would only reduce the number of accidents by 6% which isnt even going to scratch the surface.

Besides, I dont see why such a big deal is made about the number road deaths (and I mean no disrespect to anyone) Given the number of vehicles on the roads over the course of a year, the number of  deaths is less than 1% of all road users. The roads aren't nearly as dangerous a place as you are led to believe.

How many people die each year from smoking related illness? (no disrespect to the smokers) Are smokers lives somehow less valuable than those of drivers?
