Just what is it with Traffic Cops??
« on: February 05, 2009, 09:25:30 PM »

What is it with these guys???

Oldest son has just been done with dangerous driving, is facing a ban and re-sit test.
Wasn't speeding, under the influence or any of the usual stuff young lads may do in their cars, he was playing in the snow in a car park  :!:
OK so his mates sat on a sledge and he tried to tow them along but it lasted all of 10 metres, didn't work so they put the sledge back in the car and headed off home to be caught by old bill and questioned, apparantly some do gooder saw them and complained, and being young they shit themselves and admitted to it.

Agreed it could have resulted in an accident and that it was an offence but my lad hasn't even had as much as a letter sent home from school, ever! Weren't these guys young once or are they grown in a lab somewhere :?:

Sorry...rant over.  :emb:

Fookin nanny state again.
Talk to the senior traffic and have a "remember when we were young" chat. See if that works. But dangerous driving? See if it gets to court - I wouldn't think it will. Although the cps might see it as an easy mark (not PSG1 :tongue3:), a judge will probably see it as the waste of time it is.

sounds harsh m8 that does............best bet is to take him to the station and talk with the officers concerned..............maybe they will be a little more tollerant and not report to dvla  :icon_thumleft:

failing that..........follow the cunts home and burn em as they sleep  [whistle] [whistle]

 [rofl]
They've already been to the house and charged him and get this......they know my little sis who is a beat cop at the same station and her man is a high ranking officer with plod, serious crime squad or something and the best bit..................................I know them both 'cause I have to work along side them at times.

I don't often use too much bad language but your right Mark ~unts.

Hatching a plot however, I know one of the towrags rides a bike and a workmate of mine rides out with him...mostly at high velocity, fecking rightious hypocrite :icon_thumright:

Bike cam......cop caught on camera......dirty trick?......yes but they ain't like us....let him taste some of his own medicine...ave it!!

John which car park? Because if its privately owned they shouldnt be able to do jack shit if its off the public highway and would require the owners to prosecute.

When i were a lad with a mate we done the same in a safeways car park but were donuting etc in the snow. The copper pulled up and obv had the reg plate and checked the car belonged to his mum, queue the copper asking us what we are doing then asks me mate"Does your mum know where you are?"

The reply was "No does yours?" to the copper.

queue the full cavity search all round after that comment.

They went to the occupiers of the surrounding buildings, ( car park was in an Ind. Estate),  to check the cctv and got all 20 seconds of the crime on camera. That and the confession of the boys was evidence enough to charge him. Hopefully the PF will see it as a silly schoolboy prank, however 6 young men have been killed this weekend in the area in road accidents so a hard line may be taken to make an example.

The traffic guys are just too uncompromising.....target driven and boxes to be ticked.  They are also the worst offenders in my experience.
My lad has just told me that one of his mates was actually driving the car, my lad has covered for him as this lad wasn't insured. He is really taking the rap for his mates, I can relate to this and hats off to him for not being a grass but my missus doesn't quite see it that way and she is in a bit of a mess over the whole  affair.

It may be up to 3 months before the case is heard, so we'll see how it goes soon enough.

Cheers  :icon_thumright:

Mark............................burn baby burn......................................  :angry5:

Good luck. I don't want to put a sting in the tail but it seems to me the motorist is an easy target in the courts. Big fine, ban etc while the theiving scumbags walk. You can be charged with GBH and get less than a guy on a bike caught at 120!!! They are all bastards IMHO

Sad, just really. really sad.
Its not "where do I start" with this rant its "where do I stop"!

<starting "vent spleen" mode>
This is wrong on so many levels. A quite word in his ear yes; going to the trouble of "investigating" and collecting CCTV? A FOOKIN OUTRAGE!

We've all read about snot nosed asswipes, who, ve been know to the coppers for years, smacked off their tits on God knows what, convicted of causing death by dangerous driving etc, and what do our nanny state give em? Community service!
(No particular case but we 've all read about them in the past)

Is it any wonder that people have no respect for authority anymore!
<end "vent spleen" mode>

Anyway, must got now. Got to report to the cop shop for "stepping on a crack".
So, TTFN. I should be out in 5 to 10.

You could ask 'em to show evidence of who was driving the car at the time. Might get your lad off the hook without him having to grass up his mate.

They had a similar thing on the 9 o'clock news earlier in the week, I think they were towing someone on skis down a normal street, but apart from saying it could be dangerous it was seen as a light-hearted reaction to the worst weather for 18 years.  Were they interviewed under caution?

If thats the case get on iplayer, download it and use it as a precedent.
Something else - if they went hunting round the unit owners for cctv evidence, then that is quite probably inadmissable. Check if they ALL comply with the data protection act on useage, installation, record keeping, etc. If they don't then the cps have no case.

We thought along the same lines and tried to tell him that, but he doesn't want to drop his mate in it as he has just started a job which requires him to have a licence.   [wall]  If he can't drive he'll lose the job.

Sorry, should have explained better, they started in the car park and drove a couple of car lengths onto the road then stopped.
Hopefully the judge will have bigger fish to fry and see this for what  it is.  :icon_thumright:
